该基金之投资目标为以符合审慎的投资管理的原则下，谋求资本增值和日常益。该基金主要透过投资于世界各国政府及与政府有关的发行机构或企业机构所发行的固定或浮动利率债务证券（包括投资最高达该基金资产净值的5%于非投资级别证券）和偿还债项。该基金亦可购买由数个国家政府所组织或支持的超国家机构所发行的偿还债项。该基金可透过债券通或直接投资（亦称为直接投资内地银行间债券市场）少于其资产净值的 30%于中国内地。无论何时，基金经理也不能把该基金 40%以上总净资产投资于固定收益证券。
