He started his career at Investec in 1994, then joined RMB Fund Managers to lead product development and the sales division. In 1999, he moved to Mercury Consolidated Holdings as a director and co-head of structured products, pioneering several innovative financial products. He returned to RMB Asset Management in 2001 as member of the board, becoming head of quantitative research and later CEO of RMB Unit Trusts. In 2008, Barclays appointed him as Head of the Investment and Product Office at Absa Wealth, overseeing investments, banking, credit, and fiduciary services. Brandon left Absa in 2010 to found PortfolioMetrix, whereafter he continued to advise Absa on portfolio optimisation and asset allocation, as well as on strategic business choices. At PortfolioMetrix, Brandon has maintained his commitment to innovation and ethical standards in the industry, leading a vibrant company that has made an indelible impression on the markets in which it operates. He has a deep interest in the issues that beset our society and humankind, completing a Master of Science in Global Challenges (with distinction) through the University of Edinburgh in 2023.

He worked as a financial consultant to individuals as well as the technical trainer at Alexander Forbes prior to joining PortfolioMetrix in 2013.

He left to follow his passion for investing and joined PortfolioMetrix in 2015 as an Investment Analyst covering both local and global asset classes, and fund manager selection. Most of his time in the financial industry has been spent on portfolio optimisation and construction, with a particular focus on controlling for risk, this played into his very analytical and statistical based skillset. Liam plays a key role in the Investment Committee that makes decisions on all of PortfolioMetrix investment offerings. From 2021, he took on responsibilities for portfolio management in the domestic fixed income product range alongside Philip Bradford.

He is the Head of Investments for PortfolioMetrix Asset Management SA and fund manager of a number of fixed income and multi-asset class funds. Philip began his career at Investec in 1999, where he worked for 9 years in asset management, wealth advisory, and as a bond and interest rate trader. From 2008 to 2014 he worked at Absa Wealth as Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Prior to joining PortfolioMetrix, he was CIO at Sasfin Asset Managers, where he was the fund manager of the flagship Flexible Income and Balanced funds, for which he won two Morningstar awards and four Raging Bull awards.
